In
this Guide we hope you have found some information and ideas that
will be useful to you. If you work in a large organisation – or are
a large employer – many of these concepts and ideas will already be
familiar to you. But we hope nonetheless that you will find some
thoughts to help you improve.
If you
are an SME, some sections of the Guide may seem to be applicable
only to large organisations with well-established HR functions.
What is important here are the concepts and these are relevant to
employers of all sizes. As a small business owner (or a small NGO),
you will find that not only your employees but also your business
will benefit from good employment practices. A checklist is given
in Appendix VIII with a view to assisting employers to review their
practices against the Guide. This is not a test. We think it is
highly unlikely that any employer will fully comply with every
statement in the Guide. But we hope it will help you determine if
there are areas in which you feel you should do more. You may also
find it interesting to ask some or all of your employees to make
their own evaluations.
The
Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong is proud to bring you the latest
edition of our Guide to Good Employment Practices and hopes that it
will bring benefits to all who live and work in our community.
